July 2020 #RecoveringWritersChallenge

We’re all recovering from something, whether it’s an addiction, trauma, 2020, setbacks in our vocation, or just… life in general. With the coming of a new month, I’m starting an experiment by hosting a month-long daily photo and writing challenge for writers out there who, like me, need to refresh after a very de-centering last six months. I’ve prepared a series of prompts to not only invite others into our writing, but also dig a bit deeper into sources of growth and healing we may have let fall by the wayside this year.
Though you can participate in the challenge from any social media or blogging platform, it’s best suited for Instagram (you can follow me here, and let me know you’re participating in the challenge!). If you’ve never participated in a challenge like this before, just have fun with it. There are no wrong answers. The prompts are meant to spur creativity, imagination, and self-knowledge–not limit it. Don’t forget to use the hashtag in each post (#RecoveringWritersChallenge) and follow it in your feed to connect with other writers this month!
